Graduated from the Faculty of Sports at the University of Jyväskylä, the institute providing physical education research and teacher training nationwide. His over 20 years of experience in education, as a teacher, school counselor, team leader and principal, covers both secondary and upper secondary levels. Fulbright Distinguished Award in teaching. Mika Rantala has solid experience in designing and implementing school-based curricula, and adapting curriculum as a whole to meet the needs of students specialising in sports. He leads a group of teachers who are closely involved in developing materials and teaching practices for physical education and youth wellbeing. Mika is also an experienced principal of an official international baccalaureate (IB) school with strong insight into high-performance educational leadership. His leading ideas of school leadership are based on trust, sharing, individual teacher support and Mika Rantala has been involved in several projects as a team leader, educator, and study councellor. His leadership approach encourages both teachers and students of the school community to exceed themselves in their personal development. Mika Rantala has been planning and executing numerous international projects including keynote speeches, leadership education and host of tens of international delegations from all over the world: Asia, North America, Africa, South-America and Europe and Skandinavia. As an int'l expert of finnish education, Mika Rantala has delivered speeches about finnish education in USA, China, Hong Kong, Russia, Finland.
