About Us
The Asia Foundation is an international development organization committed to improving lives across a dynamic and developing Asia. The Foundation’s strengths lie in its ability to recognize emerging issues that threaten the welfare of a community, sector, nation, or region; to analyze complex contextual landscapes; to identify strategic opportunities and effective approaches for intervention; and to engage and empower those stakeholders best positioned to catalyze progressive change. In Vietnam, The Asia Foundation has played a unique role in building cooperative relationships between the government, the private sector, and civil society.
Headquartered in San Francisco, The Asia Foundation works through a network of offices in 18 Asian countries and in Washington, DC. As a not-for-profit organization, it depends on support from government and private sector partners, as well as a diverse group of bilateral and multilateral development organizations.
