Since 2008 I have been a volunteer educator of English speaking skills and job related skills (resume writing, interviewing and networking) at universities in Ho Chi Minh City and high schools in Quang Tri and Phu Yen Provinces.
After serving in Vietnam in 1971 with the U.S. Army I returned to the U.S. to receive my Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences / Education and Master Degree in Education Management and studied for a Certificate for Advanced Graduate Studies in Higher Education.
My career ranged from eighteen years as a secondary / college level teacher and high school Principal in Massachusetts and New Hampshire to sixteen years as a senior director of a major international non profit. In the latter role, I was on the Board of Directors of the Points of Light Foundation, founded by former U.S. President Bush where I assisted in developing company and community based volunteer projects.
After major international nonprofit, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. (VFW), I seek to partner with AmCham members to understand the skills needed by my Vietnamese students and advise companies with their volunteer projects and training programs.
